Objectives

To delve into the cognitive interrelationships of design, taking as a basis principles of vision science, information systems, communication theories and information technologies.

  1. To deepen the relationship between design and knowledge. 
  2. To determine how design contributes to reduce cognitive complexity and make complex phenomena more comprehensible.
  3. To define the role of audiovisual rhetoric, based on the combination of multimedia resources.
  4. To define research policies related not only to the production of knowledge, but also to the process of its distribution and assimilation. 
  5. To deepen in the concepts of ergonomics and perceptual processes applied to design.
  6. Use the ViveLab and the Virtual Environments Laboratory-Media Lab Manizales, to carry out sensory-cognitive tests in the development of projects.
  7. Strengthen the research of the Master’s and Doctorate in Design and Creation led by the group.
